Ultimate Guard EMS Season 2 Recap
Season 2 of the Ultimate Guard European Magic Series (UGEMS) is nearing its finale. As players gear up for UGEMS Regional Championship Prague, we would like to highlight some of the amazing events run by our wonderful partners all across Europe – events where hundreds of Magic players would gather and compete for their spot in Regional Championship Prague.
MTG Paprykarz Open Series - Warsaw, Poland
Paprykarz held three separate qualifier events with a total of 8 qualifying spots between them. There were over 200 entries across the three events, with a great mix of Sealed Deck and Modern formats.
Playtime Como - Desio, Italy
The UGEMS RC Prague Destination Qualifiers made its way to Desio, Italy, with a large turnout for the Modern Qualifier organised by Playtime Como. The entire event was live streamed and in the end the DQ was won by Roberto Congiu piloting Eldrazi Ramp.
Axion Now The Gathering - Sheffield, England
Axion Now is a TCG veteran with over a decade of TCG experience. We were very happy to see the large turnout for the two qualifying tournaments held here. Four slots were available in their Modern event and two slots for their Pioneer tournament.
Černý rytíř - Prague, Czech Republic
Černý rytíř represented the Regional Championship Prague’s home territory. With a whopping 16 available spots players could earn for RC Prague, we saw a huge turnout of players from across Europe. Nearly 300 total entries across both the Sealed and Modern event, players let us know just how much they enjoyed the venue and tournament as a whole.
Lotus Vale - Bochum, Germany
Nearly 200 players attended the Lotus Vale Modern event qualifier alone and when combined with the Sunday Pioneer tournament, we saw 350 players fight for the 8 spots available for the Regional Championship. After two days of Magic: The Gathering, Carsten Schäfer, Fabian Jung, Martin Eppelein, and Louis Grensing walked away with the four qualifications from the Modern Destination Qualifier. We then witnessed Jan Leuchter, Marc Russel, Henrik Schieche, and Alexander Zalensky emerge victorious in the Pioneer Destination Qualifier.
Mind Stage Games - Malmo, Sweden
Mindstage Games opened their doors to over 150 participants for their Modern Destination Qualifiers. Everyone looked like they were having a great time and there was a wonderful stream to follow the tournament. In the end, the event was won by Thomas Munk piloting their Samwise Gamgee Combo deck.
Distrito Zero & Arcanis Project - Suances, Spain
The UGEMS Regional Championship Destination Qualifiers then made its way to Spain in late October, with a DQ at Distrito Zero. 150 players competed in the Modern qualifier event to win one of the 8 spots to go to RC Prague
Relic TCG - Toulouse, France
Relic TCG hosted an amazing Destination Qualifier during their very own Relic Fest. Alongside their own Duel Commander and Big Legacy events, they held their Modern Mega Qualifier with 4 available spots for Regional Championship Prague. At the end of the 124 man Modern event, we had Rémi Martinez emerge victorious with their Merfolk deck.
